FLARE (Front Line Addiction Recovery Education) is and Addiction Awareness, Education and Community Development company. Dedicated to creating awareness about all forms of addiction, FLARE offers talks, presentations and media comment on the full spectrum of subjects in the addiction field.

Education and Training are provided by FLARE to various sectors of the community and corporate market. Our courses cover a wide range of topics and can be compiled to specifically suit the training requirements of our client.

FLARE’s community development programme currently donates cognitive and interpersonal groups to Thames House Recovery Centre on a weekly basis. This project is in line with the company’s belief that only through knowledge can we empower ourselves to recover and that that knowledge is required in all sectors, regardless of their income or status.

FLARE offers workshop on your premises or on ours depending on your preference. We also hold regular workshops at our premises on a wide range of topics.

Addiction Training Courses
These courses are designed to help you deal more effectively with chemical dependency in your work or your personal life. We have courses tailor-made for medical staff, therapists, school teachers, religious organizations, government and private organizations, families etc. Our courses cover the full spectrum of the addiction field and are available on all addictions: drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, eating disorders, self-mutilation and codependency.
for professionals, compulsive gamblers and their families or anyone needing more information about this illness.

Substance Abuse in the Workplace
These courses are designed for the corporate market.

Self-Growth Workshops
These courses are available to anyone who feels the skills are beneficial. Topics such as interpersonal boundaries, self-esteem, stress management, behaviour reprogramming etc are available.

Prevention Workshops
Designed for parents, teachers and youth, these courses are aimed at reducing the risk of addiction in later life.

Professional Intervention Services
This service is used to assist an unwilling addict into treatment by creating a ‘rock bottom’ for them with the aid of trained professionals.

Assessment and Referral Service
These services are available to anyone. Professional assessment of addicted individuals and a referral service to suitable treatment facilities.

Operation Drug Free School
This programme is a six month assault on substance abuse and other addictions within a specific school. The staff is trained along with prefects and other leaders. A project team is trained and a substance abuse policy is drawn up which can be enforced by this team. Each class is addressed individually on substance abuse and other addictions. Prevention workshops are run with selected students. The Cognitive Treatment Programme for Adolescents is implemented. In extreme cases, drug raids will be facilitated in conjunction with the SAPS. However, this will only be at the request of the schools principal.

Cognitive Treatment Programme for Adolescents
A fourteen session cognitive group treatment programme which is run at various schools. Students who are found to be abusing substances or in danger thereof are assessed and undergo a challenging yet rewarding programme aimed to equip them with coping skills to reduce the risk of further abuse.

Presentations
Presentations on any and all aspects of the field of addiction are available. These are available to all audiences and the subject matter is entirely the choice of the client. Subject matter and presentation will change according to the audience.
